Canada has surpassed 200,000 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus.
As of yesterday afternoon, there were 200,730 confirmed infections across the country.
The bleak milestone comes just over four months after Canada reached the 100,000-case threshold.
More than 10.1 million tests have been administered across the country, while a majority of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Canada come from Ontario and Quebec, even though numbers have been surging in much of the country in recent weeks as we deal with the second wave of the pandemic.
Canada saw its first confirmed case of COVID-19 in late January.
The death toll related to the virus in Canada stands at 9,776.
