It won’t be a regular Halloween in Ontario.
Premier Doug Ford is urging people not to go out trick-or-treating this Halloween in hotspots and to take extra precautions in other areas if you do.
He says you just can’t have hundreds of kids showing up at your door, especially in hotspots.
“If you live in a hotspot in Toronto, Ottawa, York or Peel, we would strongly recommend avoiding door-to-door trick-or-treating this year and finding other safer ways to celebrate with your household,” said the Premier.
Audio PlayerFord strongly recommends people stay in and do other things like carve pumpkins, have a scavenger hunt or put on a spooky movie.
In other regions if you are trick or treating, Ford says to wear a proper mask – Halloween masks alone won’t cut it – and stay two meters apart.
Also – use tongs and hand sanitizer if you are handing out candy.
