The Mayor of Goderich says marketing and promotion will be key in supporting business during the cold season.
Throughout the summer, Mayor John Grace and members of Goderich council approved restaurant expansions into sidewalks and roadways, to mitigate economic losses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
As tourism slows and Ontario finds itself in the midst of a second wave of the novel coronavirus, Grace says town hall has some responsibility to businesses.
“We need to jump in on marketing of the community. Create some excitement about visiting Goderich and purchasing in our own businesses.”
Grace says an emphasis will continue to be placed on attracting outsiders to Goderich as a place to build a family and business.
He tells Country 104.9 News Goderich’s hospitals, schools, fibre optics, and proximity to Lake Huron could make the town attractable to those who have moved their business online, and want to avoid the high cost of living in the city.
