Tougher rules to curb the spread of COVID-19 have begun in Toronto, Ottawa and Peel Region.
The measures are in effect for the next 28 days.
They prohibit indoor dining at restaurants and bars, and close gyms, movie theatres and casinos.
The government is also asking residents in those areas to only leave their homes for essential purposes.
Ontario reported its highest-ever daily number of new cases on Friday with 939.
Starting Tuesday, updated public health measures will apply to wedding receptions, including new gathering limits of 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors at event spaces.
