Ontario’s integrity commissioner has found that Midland’s Ward 2 Councillor Cody Oschefski violated the municipality’s code of conduct, after it says he hosted at least five parties at his home during the COVID-19 pandemic.
A complaint to the integrity commissioner alleges that Oschefski hosted the gatherings at his house on Lakewood Drive and that “numerous” people attended, failing to adhere to the current coronavirus protocols.
It says “Councillor Oschefski does not deny any of the events occurred on the dates specified, although he does not agree with the numbers of guests indicated or that social distancing was not respected.”
Midland town council will be presented with the integrity commissioner’s report and will vote on whether to formally reprimand Oschefski.
