Health officials are reporting 653 new Covid cases across Ontario today, with the hotspot regions continuing to be where most are being detected.
Nearly 75 per cent of the new positives are in Toronto, Ottawa and Peel Region.
Premier Doug Ford introduced new measures in those hotspots as of today, further limiting capacities at restaurants, bars, banquet halls and gyms.
Twenty-two of Ontario’s 34 public health units confirmed five or fewer cases.
More than 46,000 tests were processed Friday, putting the positivity rate at about 1.4 per cent. That is still well below the peak positivity rates near 10 per cent the province saw in April.
In Grey Bruce, five recoveries and three new cases were confirmed Friday. That leaves the region’s active case count at just five. No one in our area is currently hospitalized.
