Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced $600 million for the Regional Relief and Recovery Fund.
He says the Federal government will be there for Canadian workers for as long as it takes.
“This funding will support the community futures Network, and five regional development agencies – the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, Canada Economic Development For Quebec Regions, FedDev Ontario, Fednor and Western Economic Diversification Canada,” said Trudeau.
Today $50 million was also announced for organizations that support women and children who face violence.
$10 million will go to women’s shelters for sexual violence, another $10 million is for gender-based violence services for off-reserve women and children, while the remaining $30 million is for organizations battling gender-based violence via efforts like counselling and crisis intervention.
