People who urge others to flout health regulations are hurting the people of Ontario.
That today from Premier Doug Ford, who lashed out at those who try to get others to avoid public health measures and circumvent contact-tracing by providing false names and phone numbers at restaurants and businesses.
Ford says they are hurting their own family members.
“Have you ever walked through an ICU Unit, seeing someone struggling for their life on a ventilator?” he asked. “And having their loved ones outside in the hospital – that they can’t even see their loved ones? Have you ever been to a long term care facility when people are struggling and the PSW’s are out there working their backs off, putting their lives ahead of their own family and putting their community first?”
Today the Premier said cases are doubling now every 10 to 12 days.
Over $2.8 billion is being thrown at fall preparedness, but if the situation doesn’t change, he says we could see 200-300 patients in ICU beds per day.
Ford says 99 per cent of Ontario’s population doesn’t believe in what, quote: “the yahoos” are doing.
Starting Oct. 5, 2020, we are making changes to #LongTermCare visitor policies. This will ensure that long-term care homes in areas of highest community spread are able to continue to keep residents safe and prevent the spread of #COVID19 within their homes. pic.twitter.com/QnzZj6USmT
