Starting today, 60 pharmacies will begin providing COVID-19 testing to those people showing no symptoms.
The province implemented the change because of an increase in cases, and it’s sure to ease the wait at hospital testing centres.
People in Ontario who are not showing any symptoms of COVID-19 will now only be tested at assessment centres if they are part of a targeted group, such as health-care workers — and should go to a pharmacy instead.
Most of the pharmacies offering the service are centred around the provinces hotspots, Toronto, Peel Region and Ottawa.
You must make an appointment for the pharmacy testing, and more locations will offer the service in the coming weeks.
Right now the closest to our area offering the test are in Brampton.
