The Federal government continues its quest to secure more vaccine doses for Canadians.
Today Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the government has secured a deal with AstraZeneca which is working with the University of Oxford for up to 20 million vaccine doses for Canadians if trials are successful.
“Both the Covid-19 vaccine task force and the Immunity task force are doing important work to help us identify the most promising vaccine options and strategies,” said Trudeau.
Canada will also help deliver vaccines around the world to those countries that need it too.
$440 million is committed for this purpose. This effort will secure up to 15 million doses additionally for Canadians too.
As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise, we’re working harder than ever to make sure we’ll have access to a safe and effective vaccine. And we’re making progress. I’m giving an update on that work and more – watch live: https://t.co/WcFDSXsAUP
