Round two of the tourism innovation Spark grant is now open in Bruce County.
It’s a mentorship & grant program for start-ups, established businesses or non-profit organizations.
A release from the County says the Spark Program will match three winning candidates with a tourism innovation mentor and provide a source of financial support to help take their tourism idea to the next level of development.
The County says the focus area for this year’s applicants should be on new sustainable tourism ideas based in, and benefiting the Bruce Peninsula (Northern Bruce Peninsula or South Bruce Peninsula).
The grant program says it’s looking for new sustainable tourism ideas that enhance current tourism offerings, create high-quality, low impact tourism experiences, address gaps in tourism products and services, motivate longer stays and repeat visits, disperse visitation geographically, and increase shoulder season visits and tourism spending.
Applicants must be the following:
-Those who are 18 years or older who live, work or own property in Bruce County.
-Small businesses with 10 employees or less based in Bruce County
-Non-profit organizations with 10 employees or less based in Bruce County
The application process closes October 23rd.
Those applications will be reviewed by tourism leaders and innovators, then there will be a Finalists Pitch Session on November 24th.
Selected applicants will receive a three-month tourism mentorship and a $3,000 Spark grant as well as access to a support network of tourism innovators, entrepreneurs and leaders.
