The United Way of Perth-Huron is not letting the COVID-19 pandemic hamper efforts to address the pressing needs of the community.
Officials will be launching their 2020 campaign Friday with a video featuring board members, and a revealing of this year’s fundraising goal.
The 2019 campaign raised a record-setting $1.646 million, surpassing their original goal of $1.633 million.
A key part of the 2020 UWPH annual campaign is an effort to continue raising money for the Urgent Needs Fund for Individuals (UNFI).
Started during the pandemic, the UNFI supports local residents in a time of crisis by helping with essentials like rent, groceries and medication.
Since the UNFI’s launch, almost 550 people have received support.
