The Prime Minister has made a rare televised address to the nation.
He spoke to Canadians Wednesday night about the latest increase in COVID-19 cases.
The PM is urging Canadians to stick to their social bubbles, wear a mask, wash their hands frequently, get a flu shot and download the COVID Alert App.
He even gave an example of a teacher who recently learned they had been exposed to the virus, got tested and stayed home, instead of going to school as a result of the app.
Trudeau said, “We’re on the brink of a fall that could be much worse than the spring.”
He added, “Together, we have the power to get this second wave under control.”
The Prime Minister spoke, just hours after his government delivered its latest Throne Speech, which will extend the wage subsidy through the summer of 2021 and also expand its emergency business support program.
Trudeau said, “The federal government will have your back, whatever it takes, to help you get through this crisis.”
