Ontario’s Covid-19 Fall Preparedness Plan will be made public tomorrow.
Today Premier Doug Ford and Health Minister Christine Elliott say they have planned for the worst and are ready for any potentiality.
To fight Covid-19’s second wave, they say testing and lab capacity needs to be strengthened.
Ford also says the Federal government needs to be enforcing quarantines and doing more testing at the border.
Elliott says that the Second Wave will be more difficult to deal with than the first.
“For several reason(s),” said Elliott. “One is that we also are encountering the start of flu season as well. And there have been thousands of procedures and surgeries that were cancelled during wave one that we don’t want to cancel again – we want to make sure those surgeries and procedures can continue.”
Elliott adds that a lot of money will be needed to accomplish the needed tasks.
The Province is counting on the Federal government to help make it happen.
Ontario is reporting 425 cases of #COVID19 as more than 31,700 tests were completed. Locally, there are 175 new cases in Toronto with 84 in Peel and 60 in Ottawa. 67% of today’s cases are in people under the age of 40.
