Police have released the name of the woman who was found dead on the road in Springwater.
They say 29 year old Venessa Murphy from Clearview was struck and killed along with her dog on Bayfield Street or Highway 26, just north of Barrie last Tuesday night.
Police say the driver and vehicle that failed to remain at the scene has since been identified and they are continuing their investigation.
Anyone who may have information or witnessed the incident or observed the Venessa walking north on Bayfield Street is asked to call OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
