Saugeen Shores’ Attainable Housing Task Force has a survey they want everyone to fill out, regardless of income, age, or type of residence.
The task force held an online launch event Thursday night.
A media release from the Town says the survey will help the Task Force understand the current needs and desires from the community, information which will be used to make recommendations to Saugeen Shores Council later this year.
Attainable Housing Chair and Vice-Deputy Mayor Mike Myatt says, “We encourage members of our community as well as those living outside Saugeen Shores to complete the survey,” adding “The Task Force wants to hear from people of all ages and income levels so that we can get a full picture of housing needs in Saugeen Shores.”
The Task Force says there are nearly 600 applicants on the Bruce County Community Housing Registry Waitlist, more than 300 of whom are waiting for affordable housing in Saugeen Shores.
The you can complete the survey online by visiting SaugeenShores.ca/AttainableHousing.
Paper copies are available at the Municipal Office (600 Tomlinson Drive, Port Elgin) and at locations around town. A complete list of locations is available at SaugeenShores.ca/AttainableHousing.
The survey will close on October 8th at noon.
The Attainable Housing Task Force encourages the public to view and share their video to learn more about attainable housing in Saugeen Shores: https://youtu.be/Bb3G739yuao.
