Saugeen Shores Council has approved reopening plans for its two arenas.
A media release from the Town says staff will take phased-in approach to the reopening of the Southampton Coliseum and the Community Complex (The Plex) in the coming weeks.
A soft opening is set for September 28th at the Coliseum and The Plex on October 13th.
The Town says the soft opening will initially only include minor sports groups.
If operations are running smoothly, Phase 2 will expand to include recreational groups and private ice rentals. Public skating and programming will return in Phase 3.
The Town says operations will be different when the arenas reopen in order to manage facility capacity, flow and physical distancing measures. More information will be posted at SaugeenShores.ca/Arenas as staff prepare to reopen the
facilities.
Meanwhile, staff are working on a plan for the reopening of community halls and meeting spaces, but they remain closed at this time.
