The local health unit says it is time to revisit COVID-19 control measures.
Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Charles Gardner, says he recommends reducing your contact by shrinking down your social circle and stay only within your household.
He says it’s still okay for someone who lives alone to link with one other household.
Gardner also recommends you avoid social gatherings. He says the province is still allowing outdoor gatherings of one hundred people, but he says we should reduce that to ten people.
The doctor says we should reduce our contact and who we gather with for Thanksgiving.
For Halloween, Dr. Gardner says he expects the province to release recommendations to reduce exposure.
Gardner says there are ways to do that including putting candy out on a table on the front porch and not trick or treating in groups.
The doctor says it is quite worrisome that cases are going up in Simcoe/Muskoka. He says there are more cases in September so far than in the whole month of August.
There have been seven cases in Muskoka in September compared to five in July and August combined.
Dr. Charles Gardner says “We need to respond as if it is the second wave”.
