The Town of Saugeen Shores is inviting the community to take part in an Attainable Housing Task Force launch event.
It will be a virtual meeting set for 7 p.m. September 17th.
The launch will be co-moderated by Bruce Power’s James Scongack, Executive Vice-President, Corporate Affairs & Operational Services and Task Force member (and Bayshore Broadcasting’s) Brian Longmire.
The Task Force will give an update on the work happening in the community towards planning for more affordable and attainable housing.
Task Force Chair Mike Myatt says the Town’s Attainable Housing Task Force has
been studying the cost of rental units and purchase options for entry level
homes in Saugeen Shores, “We are united in our efforts to support the creation of housing geared towards residents of all ages and incomes looking for more affordable options,” says Myatt who is also Deputy Mayor of the Town.
The Task Force says there are nearly 600 applicants on the Bruce County Community Housing Registry Waitlist, more than 300 of whom are waiting for affordable housing in Saugeen Shores.
