There won’t be any further loosening of COVID-19 restrictions for at least another four weeks.
Premier Doug Ford was joined by Minister of Health Christine Elliott and Minister of Education Stephen Lecce for his daily news conference this afternoon at Queen’s Park.
Minister Elliott says to keep our kids safe as they go back to school, the community has to stay safe.
Meanwhile, Premier Doug Ford has some very strong words to people who aren’t sticking to the rules.
At the daily news conference today, Ford got upset about news of post secondary students going to large parties.
Ford also says he heard about 170 people gathering at a camp in Muskoka on the weekend with International visitors there.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit says there were some people in quarantine after travel who were at the camp and health officials are working with them to return home to continue self-isolation, but there are no confirmed cases of COVID-19 in this incident.
Again Ford urges everyone to follow health guidelines including physical distancing and wearing masks.
Taking a pause in further re-opening will help avoid broad-scale closures and shutdowns. And on the first day of school for many students, we need to do everything we can to limit the spread of COVID-19. The best way to keep our schools safe is to keep our communities safe.

To all our students and young people: No more parties.
We all need to do our part to help stop the spread of COVID-19. Next time you want to party, think about your parents, grandparents and other family members who are at most risk from COVID-19. We are doing this for them. pic.twitter.com/GpUx0wGz8x
