To mark Labour Day, a car caravan celebrating the contributions of all workers will make its way through Grey and Bruce counties.
The Grey Bruce Labour Council says the caravan will depart from Bill’s Valu Mart in Meaford at 11 a.m. and travel to Heritage Place Mall in Owen Sound where a “COVID-19 compliant picnic will take place.”
The caravan will then pass through Southampton, Port Elgin, Chesley and Hanover before finishing at Walkerton, where a physically distanced prize draw will be held.
The Grey Bruce Labour Council is encouraging people to join or depart the caravan anywhere along the route.
“Making sure that workers and essential workers are not forgotten, the Grey Bruce Labour Council is honouring workers in this celebration of all working people,” a statement from the local labour group explains.
