South Bruce OPP have released the name of the man who died after he jumped into the water to help two teens at Kincardine’s main beach yesterday.
Police say at 8 Thursday night, they received a report of two teens being swept off the pier by a large wave.
OPP, firefighters and paramedics arrived and found the teens had returned to shore.
The man who had jumped in to help the teens was recovered, unresponsive, from the water.
38 year old Aleem Ramji, of Toronto was pronounced deceased at a local hospital.
OPP say access to the pier remains restricted in the interest of public safety. Members of the public are asked to avoid the area until it re-opens.
