The Provincial government has boosted mask production in Ontario with a significant investment in Bracebridge.
Today Premier Doug Ford announced $2 million for Smart Save Science (3S) to ramp up production to 200,000 masks per month.
The masks, he said, are ideal for front line workers. The funding will also help realize 50 new jobs at 3S.
“It’s a better mask that will help keep our front line healthcare heroes and front line workers safe, comfortable and protected,” said Ford.
The 3S masks will be lighter and more breathable.
Minister of Economic Development Vic Fedeli adds that masks are now a daily reality for the public and that these new masks will address mask fatigue syndrome for heavy mask wearers.
Fedeli says 3S will expand its facility and purchase equipment with the Provincial funding.
The Premier also made a stop at Muskoka Brewery today (above photo), a company that makes its own hand sanitizer.
We’re on our way to beautiful #Muskoka and #Bracebridge today to stop into some great businesses and make a special announcement. Stay tuned! pic.twitter.com/YZFdarBrTW
