Three people have been arrested in connection with an assault in Orillia.
Police say they were called to the waterfront on Friday night for a report of a man being dragged by a vehicle.
The investigation revealed two young men were walking along Esplanade Street, when a vehicle approached them and the occupants started yelling profanities at them.
The vehicle left and then returned, when the occupants sprayed one of the pedestrians with beer and threw a can at him.
The third time the vehicle returned, police say one of the victim’s approached the vehicle and ended up being dragged about 25 meters.
Officers located the vehicle and three men in their 20’s from Barrie, Ramara and Bracebridge were arrested for assault, while the driver was also charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
One of the victims had claimed on social media that he had been targeted for holding hands with his boyfriend.
