Paramedics with County of Simcoe Paramedic Services are joining their colleagues across Canada, including the Ontario Paramedic Association, to honour fallen colleagues by taking part in the national Paramedic Ride.
It takes place tomorrow at 9am and raises funds in support of the Canadian Paramedic Memorial Foundation, who are fundraising to construct a monument in Ottawa that will commemorate Paramedics who have lost their lives in the line-of-duty.
County of Simcoe Paramedics will begin with a brief ceremony at the Barrie Simcoe Emergency Services Campus, which will include remarks from local dignitaries and the bell ceremony.
Then, riders will hit the road for a 48 km ride to the Orillia Paramedic Station, where they will enjoy lunch before returning to the Campus in Barrie.
The event is expected to end at approximately 4 p.m., with riders having traveled approximately 100 kms.
