A massive fire in Meaford has destroyed a century old barn.
The blaze happened Tuesday along Meaford Townline. No one was injured, but the barn and attached sheds were completely destroyed.
In a Twitter post, Meaford Fire Chief John deHooge applauded the work of Meaford and the Town of Blue Mountains firefighters during the eight-hour response.
He says the barn was filled with 300 bales of hay, while two large sheds loaded with heavy equipment were fully engulfed.
It’s believed the blaze started in an attached workshop.
No immediate word on damage estimates or the cause of the fire, but it is not considered suspicious.
