Federal financing to the tune of $2 billion will help provinces keep children safe when they return to school.
Today Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the money will flow via the Safe to Return to Class fund.
Trudeau says our children should be safe in the classroom – that’s non-negotiable.
“Once people know their kids are safe, they can get back to work with less worries,” he said.
Ontario will receive $381 million from today’s announcement.
Trudeau adds that we all want what’s best for our kids.
It will be up to different areas, how the money will be used for safety.
He says the tools we give to children now to be safe in a world that’s changing will give them confidence.
Across the country, parents are worried about their kids heading back to school – as a dad, I get it. This morning, we’re announcing what we’re doing with the provinces and territories to help keep our kids and teachers safe. Tune in now for the details: https://t.co/guM7r7oqrT
