Grey Bruce OPP say they have charged seven more people with stunt driving.
Police say they were all charged throughout the day on Monday (Aug 24th).
According to OPP, just after 1:30 Monday morning they stopped a 22 year old Etobicoke man in a grey SUV on Highway 6, near Shallow Lake. Police say he was doing over 140 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
Just after 9 a.m., Grey Bruce OPP stopped a black SUV on Highway 6, near Pike Bay Road, in Northern Bruce Peninsula they say was travelling over 135 km/h in the posted 80 km/h speed limit. Police charged a 26 year old driver from Montreal.
Just before 10:30 that morning officers stopped a black SUV on Highway 6, near Limberlost Road, in South Bruce Peninsula they say was travelling over 130 km/h in this posted 80 km/h speed limit. A 25 year old Windsor driver is charged.
Just after 11 a.m. OPP stopped a 45 year old man from Mount Brydges in a grey SUV on Highway 6, near Limberlost Road, they say was doing over 130 km/h in an 80km/h zone.
Just before 1 in the afternoon, OPP stopped a blue car on Highway 6, near Spry Road, in Northern Bruce Peninsula they say was travelling over 130 km/h in the posted 80 km/h speed limit. A 28 year old Mississauga woman was charged.
At 1:30 in the afternoon, OPP stopped and charged a 21 year old Scarborough driver of a black car for doing over 130km/h in an 80km/h zone on Highway 6 near Limberlost Road.
Later, at 11 Monday night, OPP stopped a black car on Highway 6, near Weirs Road, in South Bruce Peninsula they say was travelling over 145 km/h in the posted 80 zone. A 23 year old driver from North York was charged.
OPP say all of these drivers were issued a provincial summons to attend court, a seven day drivers licence suspension and their vehicles were towed and impounded for seven days.
Grey Bruce OPP are asking the public to report unsafe driving, including excessive speeding and aggressive driving.
