Wasaga Beach’s hydro service is reporting a cyber security breach.
But Wasaga Distribution says that the computer system that contains customer’s personal information wasn’t affected.
The provider says on Monday (August 17), a breach was discovered on some of its computer systems.
An evaluation and recovery plan was started right away and Wasaga Distribution says while it will take a bit of time for all computer-based systems to be restored from the back up systems, the normal operation of the electrical system was not affected.
The hydro provider says it apologizes to its customers for any delays they may have experienced in contacting the office over the last couple of days.
