A community food share event is taking place in Barrie this weekend.
CareTable is a community food table by Connected Core Barrie that can be accessed by anyone – as a donor or as a recipient.
It will receive your fresh or non-perishable food donation and make it available for any member of our community who needs it, without any cost.
The food share event takes place tomorrow from 1-3 pm in the parking lot at the corner of Clapperton and Worsley Streets (adjacent to Barrie Public Library, Downtown Branch).
CareTable operates under the CareKitchen food security initiative to support access to food and lessen
food waste. CareKitchen is a prong of the Connected Core Program, which supports community
partnerships and collaboration to address root causes of social issues.
At each community food table, volunteers will accept garden produce or any non-perishable foods items to be shared with any community member that needs it. Any remaining food will be donated to local
organization that support with food security of those most vulnerable. Physical distancing, use of personal protective equipment and other requirements will be adhered to at the table.
