Hi, this is Fred Wallace with ” Off the Wire. ”
Lisa MacLeod, the Ontario Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture was in the region last week for a variety of funding announcements.
Between sessions, we spoke with her about the Ontario Hockey League and their projected start date of December 1st.
Lisa MacLeod, like most politicians, talked at length about the topic, but in reality, nothing was firmly stated.
And that’s not a slag on Lisa MacLeod, because her remarks likely fell into one of two categories.
One, she doesn’t know anything more than you and I do.
Or two, she knows something but isn’t at liberty to dispense the information.
My sense is that it’s the former.
Lisa MacLeod, like you and I, knows a date has been set, a format is in place and we’re all anticipating a return to play for the OHL.
But after that, in a 5 minute segment, not much was disclosed.
And again, I don’t fault Lisa or anyone else for that.
Since the announcement, have we heard anything from the OHL ?
Since the announcement, have we heard anything from the Attack ? Or any OHL organization, officially ?
Nope. And that’s because everything remains very much up in the air and the OHL, their member clubs, the fan base and even our politicians can only await updates from medical and health professionals before December 1st, or later, becomes a reality.
I’m Fred Wallace
