
A 23-year-old Owen Sound man faces numerous charges after an alleged robbery at a convenience store in Port Elgin.
Saugeen Shores Police say at about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday morning the male entered the store and “brazenly” told the employee he was going to steal items while concealing them in full view.
Police say the male threatened the employee when confronted.
Saugeen Shores Police say the male fled the convenience store and was pursued a short distance by the employee. Officers then attended and viewed a video of the incident.
Saugeen Shores Police have not disclosed what store this alleged incident occurred at or what items the accused apparently stole.
Police say just after 1:30 Tuesday afternoon an officer from the Criminal Investigations and Drug Unit observed a male who fit the description of the suspect near a residence on Bricker Street.
Uniformed officers attended the area, located the male suspect and arrested him.
A 23-year-old Owen Sound man, who has not been identified by Saugeen Shores Police, faces numerous offences including robbery and utter threats to cause bodily harm.
