Over $550 thousand in funding is coming to the the arts and tourism sector in Huron and Bruce counties.
Progressive Conservative MPP Lisa Thompson made the announcement alongside Minister of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries Lisa MacLeod.
Receiving the largest piece of funding is the Goderich-based Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation, which will pick up $205 thousand.
Also receiving a funding boost will be the Huron County Museum & Historic Gaol ($63,226), 49th Huron Country Playhouse Theatre Festival ($80,044), Lucknow’s Music in the Fields ($60,624), Blyth Centre for the Arts ($59,500), and Huron Waves Music Festival ($20,659).
Thompson tells Country 104.9 News the financial support is especially important for the organizations benefiting from them, because of the challenges faced by the pandemic.
