Saugeen Shores Committee of Whole has tentatively approved the plan to reopen Centennial Pool in the coming weeks.
The pool has been closed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic since March 13th.
The Town says staff will take a gradual, phased-in approach to reopening.
They say operations will be different when the pool reopens: for example, due to physical distancing measures and capacity limitations, traditional swimming lessons won't be offered right away.
The Town is launching a public poll to further understand the community's desire to return to the facility, the types of programs they're looking for, and in what capacity they plan to return.
You can complete the survey online before next Tuesday (August 18) on the Town's website.
Paper copies are also available at the Municipal Office, 600 Tomlinson Drive, Port Elgin during regular business hours. They can be dropped off using the drop box at the Municipal Office.
