Expect road closures today in Owen Sound for some sewer repair work.
9th Street West is to be closed until 7 p.m. from 3rd Avenue West to 7th Avenue West.
6th Avenue West from 8th Street West to 9th Street A West is also due to be closed until 7 pm.
A rain date had been set, but despite the wet weather, the City says the contractor plans to do the repairs today.
That means you can transit route detours. At 9th Street and 5th Avenue West, the route will be detoured onto 5th Avenue West, right onto 8th Street West, then left onto 6th Avenue West to continue its regular route.
The bus stop at 9th Street West and 6th Avenue West will not be accessible during this time.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, August 12th, sewer rehabilitation is also set for the 9th Avenue and 16th Street East intersection. Left turns will not be permitted in the Eastbound, Westbound and Northbound lanes. This closure will be in effect Wednesday, August 12 from 7 AM to 7 PM. In case of inclement weather, the work will be competed on Thursday, August 13 or Friday August 14.
The East Bayshore transit route will be detoured to accommodate those lane closures in the 9th Avenue East and 16th Street East intersection. At 9th Avenue East and 17th Street East, the route will detour onto 17th Street East, left onto 7th Avenue East, then left onto 16th Street East to continue its regular route. No bus stops will be affected by this detour.
