The homicide unit in Durham Region is investigating after the remains of a newborn baby were found in the water in Pickering.
Emergency crews were called to the area of Frisco and Montgomery Park Roads around 3 p.m. yesterday, when human remains were found near the shoreline of Lake Ontario by a citizen.
The remains were later determined to belong to an infant, but few other details have been released.
Police say an autopsy will be conducted and anyone with information is asked to contact them.
Investigators are on their way to the area of Frisco Rd and Montgomery Park Rd near the shoreline of Lake Ontario after human remains were located. Coroner will be attending and more info to follow when it becomes available.
