The Province will invest $83 million via the Ontario Trillium Foundation to provide grants for eligible non-profits to help them recover from Covid-19.
The money will also help food banks, child and youth programs and Royal Canadian Legion branches continue their vital programming.
Premier Doug Ford says throughout Covid-19, these groups represent the true Ontario spirit, shining brightly through these dark times.
“Throughout this crisis, the volunteers at our Legion branches, the volunteers at our food banks – the people delivering meals to our seniors and those with disabilities – they have all been true heroes and thank-you from the bottom of my heart,” said the Premier.
Ford adds that these same groups will be critical in helping people rebuild their lives too as we restart the economy and reopen the province.
We are making sure non-profits have the support needed to recover as we move through #COVID19. We're investing over $83M to support our struggling non-profit organizations and legion branches through the new Resilient Communities Fund. https://t.co/iyzaN0TrDu pic.twitter.com/KnHX09w7uJ
