An expensive home in Collingwood is part of 24 million dollars in property indicated in a gambling investigation.
On Wednesday, police and the Canada Revenue Agency searched a number of locations, including in Thornbury and found assets of crime including three homes and one vacant vacation property, eight vehicles including sports cars and a Harley Davidson motorcycle.
There are financial assets of three land/property development companies including building lots in the Collingwood area, one of which has a seven million dollar newly built house on it.
Money in the amount of over 82 thousand dollars Canadian and over 25 thousand USD in cash was seized along with about 7 kilos of Psilocybin and 0.5 kilograms of marijuana worth almost 67 thousand dollars.
In December 2019, Project HOBART saw 18 police agencies and enforcement organizations combine to end an illegal gaming enterprise operated by and linked to members of known criminal organizations, including three members and one prospect member of the Hells Angels.
At the time, 28 people were charged with 228 offences and police seized or restrained $12-million worth of assets.
Police have now charged seven more people and re-arrested another man.
