The Grey Bruce Health Unit says it's providing free face coverings for public transit riders in Owen Sound who are unable to access a mask.
A release from the health unit explains a supply of masks made available through Bruce Power's donation of personal protective equipment to communities in Grey and Bruce counties has been provided to the City of Owen Sound for distribution.
The masks will be made available to transit users by drivers, upon request.
“Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Bruce Power has continually shown a commitment to the health and safety of residents in Grey and Bruce Counties”, says Mayor Ian Boddy in a statement. “We would like to thank them for this generous donation and encourage the continued wearing of face coverings in all indoor public spaces.”
The city continues to urge citizens to use the public transit service for essential trips only, while adhering to physical distancing on the bus.
