Goderich Mayor John Grace says there have been no issues, so far, in managing crowds at the town’s three beaches.
Grace tells Country 104.9 News no visitors were turned away from the shoreline this weekend, despite limits being previously enforced to allow for social distancing.
Since the beginning of summer, Goderich has enforced loose limits on patrons along its beaches.
According to Grace, there is no firm number allowed along the shoreline, but by-law officials and members of the Huron County OPP work to create a safe beach environment, while maintaining the fun atmosphere visitors have come to expect.
However, the Goderich Mayor says there has been some mixed messaging from the province.
While Huron County has entered into Phase 3 of re-opening — allowing for outdoor gatherings up to 100 people — Grace says groups are still limited to bubbles of ten people along the Goderich coastline.
