Come August 1st, fares will be charged again on City of Barrie buses.
The buses will also have protective, plexiglass shields that’ll act as safety barriers between riders and bus drivers.
Riders will once again board at the front of the bus too.
Barrie Transit was free from March 20th as a Covid-19 measure and riders boarded through the back doors to allow for minimal contact
Come August 1st, multi-ride cards will also be suspended. Various options for the cards are being looked at by staff
Riders will still be able to pay cash fares at the farebox and buy monthly passes at the terminal.
