The cash will flow to Ontario municipalities as the Province makes good on its Covid-19 pledges.
Today Premier Doug Ford announced up to $4 billion to relieve pressures they are facing as a result of Covid-19.
The Safe Restart Agreement will allow critical services to keep moving and other efforts.
“That’s $4 billion to support homeless shelters, women’s shelters, food banks, public health and transit,” said the Premier.
Ford thanked Ontario’s 444 mayors for their efforts during the pandemic.
Ford says they all stuck together as Team Ontario and are showing there’s nothing they can’t accomplish together.
Together we secured a historic agreement for Canada and Ontario. This means $19B to support healthcare, municipal services, families and communities.
This will help us restart our economy and come back stronger than ever.https://t.co/V60fdsuASG pic.twitter.com/IbvmrOSMwi
