A lawsuit has been filed this week in connection with the arrest of two First Nations brothers in Orillia that was caught on cellphone video.
It says Ontario Provincial Police officers allegedly falsified their notes to justify a racially influenced violent takedown of the men, which happened on Sept. 15, 2018.
The lawyer for Randall May and Aaron Keeshig, Promise Holmes Skinner, said she believes the OPP’s actions were influenced by racism.
The lawsuit names the Ontario government, two identified OPP officers and a number of unknown officers.
It is seeking $400,000 in damages.
According to the CBC, the lawsuit was filed in Toronto on Wednesday.
