Seniors across Huron and Perth counties have benefited from a new partnership between the federal government and the United Way.
Over $50 thousand was provided to the United Way of Perth-Huron through the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the federal funding helped provide over eight thousand pounds of food to the Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre, and 133 care packages, meals, and gift cards distributed by VON Canada Perth Huron.
ONE CARE Home & Community Support Services was also able to subsidize 981 grocery deliveries, 103 grocery orders, and 200 essential trips for seniors in Huron and Perth counties.
