Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says he knows people have concerns about how the Canada Student Service Program is shaping up and he apologised for not recusing himself on the issue.
He was particularly interested in the program he says and admits he should not have been part of those discussions.
“I made a mistake in not recusing myself immediately from the discussions given our family’s history and I’m sincerely sorry about not having done that,” said Trudeau, addressing the WE charity scandal.
Trudeau says during the pandemic the country got “very creative” with a range of programs.
Today Trudeau also announced that the Wage Subsidy will be extended until December.
