Parking at Goderich’s three beaches will be free for residents, when the town implements paid parking in 2021.
Goderich Mayor John Grace says few details have been agreed upon by elected officials at this time, with the two being: paid parking will be introduced next year; and residents will be assigned parking free passes.
Grace tells Country 104.9 News the town could recover up to $200 thousand a year, by placing parking meters at the town’s beaches.
He says he would prefer to see free parking Monday to Thursday, with paid parking Friday through Sunday.
The approval process would also involve consultations with the public, and submission of fees to the Provincial Offences Act (POA).
