Three suspects are in custody and police say they are searching for two more, after a mugging in downtown Orillia.
Around 7 o’clock Saturday night, police received an anonymous call, stating that a group of people carrying weapons were walking on a trail near downtown and someone could be in danger.
Officers flooded the area and located two victims who alleged they had been assaulted with weapons and robbed.
Police took a 29 year old woman and two men in their 30’s into custody on assault charges, but another male and female suspect managed to get away.
Investigators says it is believed that this was a targeted crime and there is no threat to the public at this time.

As a result of this ongoing investigation, the following have been arrested and charged:
-Allanah WOOD-BEERS, age 29, of Orillia has been charged with:
- Robbery with Violence, contrary to Section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
- Failure to Comply with Release Orders, contrary to Section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code
- Three counts of Fail to Comply with Probation Order, contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and is set to appear on July 05, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice, Newmarket.
-Jason MOUNTNEY-WILLISTON, age 39, of Orillia has been charged with:
- Robbery with Violence, contrary to Section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, contrary to Section 88 of the Criminal Code
- Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm, contrary to Section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
- Assault with a Weapon, contrary to Section 267(a) of the Criminal Code
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing and is to appear on July 05, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice, Newmarket.
-Adam GRIERSON, age 37, of Orillia has been charged with:
- Robbery with Violence, contrary to Section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code
The accused was released on a Form 10 Undertaking and is set to appear on September 15, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice, Orillia.
