The former Minneapolis police officer charged with second-degree murder in George Floyd’s death is due back in court today.
Derek Chauvin, 44, is charged with second-degree murder, third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
He is being held on $1.25 million bail in the high-profile case.
The three other officers who were at the scene of Floyd’s death have been charged with aiding and abetting second-degree murder.
Floyd’s death while in handcuffs on May25th has sparked nationwide protests calling for police reform.
