Midland is looking for ideas from the community about what to include in a 2020 time capsule.
(I personally think a non-medical mask should be one item.)
The town says the time capsule should contain items relevant to the history and future of Midland, while celebrating the completion of our King Street Rejuvenation project
“It has been a very long time since King Street was last reconstructed, and I think it’s important to commemorate this historic project,” said Mayor Stewart Strathearn.
“Not only will this time capsule celebrate the completion of our King Street Rejuvenation project, it will also shed light on what life was
like in Midland in 2021 for those opening it 50 years from now. For some it will be distant memories, and for others it will open a door to a time well before they were born.”
Those interested in suggestion items for the time capsule are invited to please click here by Sept. 7, 2020.
Those without internet access can mail their ideas to:
Town of Midland
Attn: Time Capsule Project
575 Dominion Avenue
Midland, ON, L4R 1R2
The final items selected will be announced in the Fall of 2020.
The time capsule will be buried next year and unearthed in the year 2071.
