Based on water sample results this week, some beach advisories have been issued by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit.
During a swim advisory, signs indicate recent water samples show bacteria levels may increase risk of developing minor skin, eye, ear, nose or throat infections or stomach illness.
The swim advisories include:
- Centennial Park and Beach, Barrie (ADVISORY LIFTED)
- Minet’s Point Park and Beach, Barrie (ADVISORY LIFTED)
- Gull Lake Park Beach, Gravenhurst
- Washago Centennial Park Beach, Severn
The beaches are not closed, but those who chose to swim are advised to avoid swallowing the water and dunking their heads underwater.
